FOR SMALL ANIMALS (Dogs and Cats, Rabbits and Ferrets)

bertha-bus.jpg
The Micro-ID Training Course is designed to enable people who are in the pet trade to gain knowledge of the microchip technology and how to fit the latest Mini-Chip to small animals such as dogs, cats, rabbits & ferrets.
Our practical section of the Mini-Chip training course is held on the Onswitch training bus "Bertha".

Bertha is a specially designed bus that tours the country offering various training courses to veterinary nurses & people who work or have an interest in the pet industry.

Our 3 hour course is supported by our training manual (6 to 8 hours home work) sent out to you in advance, enabling you more time to do the practical session with the trainer. You will be trained to use the Mini-Chip which is 44% smaller than the standard microchip used for the past 25 years.

On the day you will have a good understanding of the microchipping procedure & there will be a short session with the tutor to ask any questions.
You will be required to bring  2/3 animals with you to the course to microchip, you can bring cats, dogs, rabbits or ferrets. Animals must be kept in a secure carrier or on a lead under control & will have to stay in your vehicle until it is their turn to be chipped.

The practical course should last no longer than 3 hours depending on how many students attend. If for any reason the course has to be cancelled we will give you a minimum of 24 hours notice.

If you have any sort of disability or condition you feel may affect your ability to microchip please contact our office to discuss your concerns further, to be able to complete the microchip training you should be confident handling animals on your own.
